Red Feather Winery
Red Feather Winery was a family-owned boutique winery and vineyard, celebrated for its welcoming, laid-back atmosphere amid rolling hills and scenic vineyards. It specialized in small-production, estate-grown wines, including a unique White Cabernet (a crisp white wine from red Cabernet grapes, not a rosé), Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Old Vine Zinfandel, a Rhône-style red blend called Razzmatazz (Syrah, Barbera, and Mourvèdre), Livermore Valley Chardonnay, a sparkling Constance (inspired by Champagne), and Jaiden's Dessert Wine (a port-style fortified wine). The tasting room offered casual experiences with live music on weekends, picnic areas, and signature treats like Connie's triple chocolate port brownies made with their dessert wine. Known for its "fine wines, good times, and entertaining good people" ethos, it emphasized fun, community, and high-quality varietals from its own Red Feather Vineyard.

Red Feather Winery History
Established in 2006 at 5700 Greenville Road, Red Feather quickly became a local favorite for its approachable vibe and innovative wines. The winery operated for about seven years, fostering a loyal following through events, music, and family-friendly hospitality in an area renowned for pioneering varietal labeling (like Chardonnay and Petite Sirah) and earning California's first international wine gold medal in 1889. In 2013, the facility was acquired by three friends who remodeled it and relaunched as 3 Steves Winery, focusing on Zinfandel and red blends while preserving the site's communal spirit. Red Feather officially closed around this transition. Today the site at the top of Greenville Road carries forward Livermore's legacy of innovative, community-driven winemaking.

There's a story behind the Red Feather name. The initials R.E.D. are those of the owner's father, and the feather symbolizes the family's Native American heritage. The name Red Feather and the logo are a family legacy, used for over 30 years in a construction business, a property management company, and later the Red Feather Winery and Vineyard.

Livermore (Images of America)
by Livermore Heritage Guild and John Christian
In this compact volume from Arcadia Publishing's esteemed "Images of America" series, the Livermore Heritage Guild—veterans of local preservation efforts since 1972—delivers a vivid snapshot of California's Tri-Valley gem from the mid-20th century onward. Co-authored with John Christian, the book chronicles Livermore's metamorphosis from a post-Depression ranching hub to a suburban powerhouse fueled by federal labs and wartime ingenuity.
These images capture the grit of tuberculosis sanatoriums, the sprawl of vineyards yielding to tract homes, and community cornerstones like fire stations and Main Street parades. The format is straightforward—photo-heavy with concise captions—making it less a narrative memoir and more a visual timeline for history buffs or newcomers.
