Pat Paulsen Vineyards
Beloved comedian and satirist Pat Paulsen founded his namesake winery in Sonoma County more than four decades ago in 1971. With help from his wife Jane and family, he quickly established Pat Paulsen Vineyards as a serious player with many award-winning wines.
Wine labels based on Grant Wood's famous work American Gothic feature Pat and Jane in character, and continue to be popular with fans. American Gothic White and American Gothic Red are available from the winery's collection of fun and unique wines.
Sadly, Pat Paulsen passed away in 1997. His son Montgomery (Monty) assumed control of the original family business and moved the operation to Napa, with event space and offices in Oakland and a weekend tasting facility on the Livermore Wine Trail. With its high-caliber and personable team in place, the Pat Paulsen Vineyards legacy appears to be in capable hands.
Tesla Vintners is home to The Singing Winemaker, as well as Ehrenberg Cellars and Pat Paulsen Vineyards. The Tesla Combo allows visitors to taste several wines from each of the three wineries for one low fee. The Pat Paulsen Vineyards tasting room is housed at the base of a century-old water tower building. The grounds are kid-friendly and perfect for a picnic lunch.
