Livermore Valley Wine Country
Livermore, California located in the east San Francisco Bay Area in Alameda County. The city is part of the Tri-Valley Area, which includes the Amador, Livermore and San Ramon Valleys. Livermore wineries are also located in the neighboring cities of Pleasanton, Sunol, Danville, and Castro Valley.
The Livermore Valley is one of the oldest winemaking regions in California, thanks to a gravelly soil that is particularly suited to the growing of flavorful grapes. There are presently more than 5,000 acres of vineyards adding beauty to the landscape.
Wineries range from small, family-owned operations like Eagle Ridge Vineyard and Rodrigue Molyneaux Winery to historic leaders of the California wine industry, including Concannon, Wente, and Mirassou.
