Ehrenberg Cellars

Ehrenberg Cellars

Ehrenberg Cellars is located at 476 Lindbergh Avenue in Livermore

Welcome to Ehrenberg Cellars
Ehrenberg Cellars is a small, boutique winery specializing in handcrafted, award-winning red wines with rich, full-bodied profiles, deep character, and oak finishes. The winery produces around 1,200 cases annually from grapes sourced from regions like Solano, Lodi, Napa Valley, and Amador County. Ehernberg Cellars emphasizes passion from grape to bottle, aiming to create signature wines "for the love of the drink." Its tasting room offers a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, and it shares space with adjacent wineries for a collaborative vibe.

The operation is helmed by winemaker Chris Ehrenberg, along with plenty of support from his family. Chris followed the classic small-producer path—he started making wine in his garage before scaling up. Visitors often describe him as delightful and knowledgeable, with a tasting room that feels more like a cozy club room or relative’s house than a formal winery.

The winery hosts creative events like Cork and Canvas, pairing wine with art by Heidi Ehrenberg. There are also paint nights, barre/yoga classes, and live music performances. The space is dog-friendly and welcoming for small groups.

Ehrenberg Cellars History
Founded in 2008, the winery began as an urban operation in Alameda at Rock Wall Wine Company, where it honed its commitment to bold, enjoyable wines. Drawing from the owner's European family roots and personal dedication, the winery quickly earned acclaim, amassing over 30 awards for its reds. After years in the urban setting, Ehrenberg Cellars relocated to Livermore Valley, California's historic first wine region, to immerse itself in "wine country" while staying near the Bay Area. It has operated at multiple local addresses before settling at its current home at 476 Lindbergh Avenue in Livermore, which serves as both tasting room and bottling facility.

"The Zin Kings"
Ehrenberg Cellars specializes in Zinfandel and has earned this playful title due to its extensive Zinfandel offerings—one of the largest selections among Livermore Valley producers. The winery sources grapes from premier California vineyards and produces a range of varietals, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, late-harvest wines, and sparkling options.

Published in 2006 by Arcadia Publishing, this compact gem from the Livermore Heritage Guild dives into the foundational years of Livermore, California, through over 200 evocative vintage photographs and insightful captions drawn from the guild's Carnegie Library History Center archives.
Tracing roots from Robert Livermore's 1822 desertion of his ship to his vast 40,000-acre Las Positas land grant, it chronicles the gold rush influx and the town's 1869 founding by William Mendenhall as a hub for hay, grain, wine grapes, and ranching—the pioneering infrastructure that shaped the Bay Area's Tri-Valley.

The Singing Winemaker

The Singing Winemaker

The Singing Winemaker at Tesla Vintners is located at 5143 Tesla Road in Livermore, California

The Singing Winemaker at Tesla Vintners
Uniquely situated on the main winery trail between Livermore winemaking legends Concannon and Wente, Tesla Vintners—home of The Singing Winemaker—has emerged as a popular spot for locals to relax and catch a colorful sunset on the deck or patio.

The motto at Tesla Vintners is to celebrate truth, beauty and goodness through wine, music and art. There is evidence of this everywhere you look, from the paintings on the tasting room walls to the outdoor stage where music often fills the air.

Tesla Vineyards offered the first community tasting room in Livermore. The former homestead's historic, 120-year old buildings are home to a select group of wineries, including Ehrenberg Cellars and Pat Paulsen Vineyards.

Wine tasters are encouraged to try the Tesla Combo, which offers a sampling of wines from each of the three wineries for one low fee.

Tesla Vintners is a great place to relax and enjoy a glass of sparkling wine. The comfortable facilities are ideally suited to gatherings large and small, with surrounding views of the Livermore hills.

Guests are often treated to live music by The Singing Winemaker himself, who calls the vineyard property home.
